Early American Pottery has this great tradition of very simple, straight wall pots that include amazing designs of birds, flowers, fish, etc.

The magnolia flower is a standard Early American design theme. I used a cobalt carbonate glaze on the design to add a hint of lighter blue against the bare red stoneware, and a green variation glaze as contrast on the inside.
