Early American Pottery has this great tradition of very simple, straight wall pots that include amazing designs of birds, flowers, fish, etc.

The sunflower is a standard Early American design theme. I used a dark shades of bright colors to glaze the design against the bare red stoneware, and a gloss orange glaze on the inside.
